Before you switch

Better Stack labels the $0 plan “Free for personal projects”; this listing does not establish that freelance client work or a company production workload is eligible. Check eligibility before using it for a business. The pricing page lists 10 monitors & heartbeats and one status page, 3 GB logs and 3 GB traces retained for 3 days, plus 30 GB metrics. Larger ingestion, longer retention, responder/on-call features, phone/SMS alerting and AI SRE can cost money; AI SRE uses consumption-based model pricing. Hosted monitoring is included within the free allowance, but your monitored application hosting and telemetry egress remain separate costs. No paid AI API is needed for the basic workflow. This is not unlimited telemetry or full Datadog feature parity.
