Workflow coverage and comparison notes

Replace a small static website hosted on Namecheap, Hostinger, Bluehost or names.co.uk when it fits the shared 300-credit monthly cap. Does not replace PHP/WordPress, email, domain registration or managed support. Also replaces the same bounded website slice of GoDaddy, SiteGround and DreamHost; excludes their bundled domains, mailboxes and managed support. Additional comparison: Replace only prebuilt static website hosting: portfolio, documentation or a generated blog. This requires static files or a rebuild; it cannot run an existing PHP/WordPress site unchanged. No mailbox, domain registration, managed support or free database is included. Domain renewals, dynamic services and paid APIs are separate. Stay within the current free-plan credits; exhaustion can pause projects. Netlify Pro and paid usage are separate. Microsoft Azure: Host a prebuilt static website, portfolio or documentation instead of the paid Azure Static Web Apps hosting slice, within the alternative’s free quota. Not Azure VMs, databases, private networking, identity, custom-role features or an enterprise SLA. Domain registration, dynamic backends and API charges are separate.

Before you switch

The 300 credits/month are shared across production deployments, bandwidth, requests and compute, not 300 builds. Current rates include 15 credits/production deploy, 20 credits/GB bandwidth and 2 credits/10,000 requests. Free has a hard cap: projects pause when credits run out, without automatic paid top-ups. Frequent releases or traffic can exhaust this allowance quickly. No live PHP/WordPress hosting. Domain registration, email and external APIs cost separately. No paid API is needed for a static site; optional functions consume credits. Not a full managed shared-hosting replacement.

Alternatives to these paid apps

Each comparison covers the workflow described above, rather than every paid feature.
