Workflow coverage and comparison notes

Self-host newsletter software instead of paying a subscriber-based platform fee. Server and email-delivery charges remain; the paid MailCheap Cloud service is not the free route. MailCheap Cloud: Manage subscribers, compose and send newsletter campaigns using free self-hosted software. You supply the server, database, domain/DNS and SMTP or email-provider credentials. Delivery and hosting costs remain. No managed deliverability or MailCheap Cloud support is included. This is the free source edition of the same product, not a separate competing tool. AGPL-3.0 obligations apply.

Before you switch

Requires your own hosting, database, email-provider credentials and DNS setup. Delivery, server upkeep and backups are your responsibility. Self-hosting has no maker support. Does not promise Beehiiv ad-network, growth or deliverability-service parity.
