What you can use it for

Search the web and read page text from an agent using Treg’s direct TinyFish tools.

  • Both direct free endpoints returned useful results in our browser tests.
  • Connect web tools to agents through a skill, MCP or API.
Workflow coverage and comparison notes

Web search and readable page-text retrieval for agents, instead of metered Firecrawl search/basic scraping, Tavily Search/Extract or Exa Search/Contents beyond their recurring free allowances. All three already have a free plan. Only the generic search/read workflow is covered: no Firecrawl crawling/schema API parity, Exa semantic index or research/monitoring parity, Tavily deep research, or browser interaction.

Before you switch

Select tinyfish.web.search and tinyfish.web.fetch explicitly. Automatic routing can fall back to paid providers; starter wallet credit is temporary and is not this free route. Treg does not publish a guaranteed per-user shared-provider allowance. Provider limits apply; model costs are separate. Some sites block fetching. Source is Apache-2.0 with additional managed-registry restrictions, not unrestricted open source.

Alternatives to these paid apps

Each comparison covers the workflow described above, rather than every paid feature.
