Convert Markdown briefs to Word documents or HTML on your own computer.
What you can use it for
Convert Markdown briefs to Word documents or HTML on your own computer.
- Converted a brief with headings, a table, a link and a list to DOCX.
- Reopened the DOCX as Markdown and HTML; expected content survived.
Workflow coverage and comparison notes
Local document conversion beyond CloudConvert’s free daily conversion allowance; command line rather than a hosted conversion service. For Vellum: LibreOffice Writer: prepare chapter-based manuscripts and export EPUB or manually formatted PDF. Pandoc: generate EPUB from Markdown/DOCX and style with CSS. Both require more manual formatting and proofreading than Vellum. Pandoc is a command-line technical option, not a visual book designer; print-PDF needs an external PDF engine. No automatic Vellum-quality print interiors or bookstore acceptance guarantee.
Before you switch
Command-line tool, not an interactive Word editor. Complex layout fidelity was not tested. PDF output needs an additional engine.
