Before you switch
Technical Docker setup, video-processing resources and a local language model are required. Hosted OpenShorts free credits and proprietary cloud features are not this free route. Visual-only content is a poor fit. Users reported preview/export subtitle and timing bugs; maintainer fixes are not independently retested here. Gemini, ElevenLabs and other optional services can cost extra.
