What you can use it for

Create animated titles, product promos and motion graphics from HTML, then render them to MP4.

  • Render locally authored HTML/CSS motion graphics into video files.
  • Reuse compositions and brand styling for product promos and automated video pipelines.
Workflow coverage and comparison notes

Replace the motion-graphics slice of an After Effects subscription: authored animated text, graphic scenes and product-launch videos rendered locally from HTML. Does not claim full visual-effects, project-file, plugin or compositing parity. Commercial use of the Apache-2.0 framework is allowed; imported media, fonts and optional services retain their own terms.

Before you switch

A developer-oriented HTML/CSS video workflow, not the After Effects compositing interface or an importer for its projects and plugins. Requires Node.js 22+, FFmpeg, browser rendering and local compute/storage. AI-assisted authoring, generated assets and cloud rendering may incur separate charges; hand-authored local compositions do not require a paid model API. Rendering can be slow: a firsthand Windows/WSL2 report describes a 48-minute render for a 7-minute composition, faster native Windows GPU capture, and a multi-worker hang. Check outputs, audio and every aspect ratio; complex media and runtime effects have reported edge cases.
