What you can use it for

Toggle application features for selected users and roll them out gradually without deploying new code.

  • Flag evaluations happen from a cached configuration.
  • Unlimited users, seats and service connections within the configuration traffic allowance.
Workflow coverage and comparison notes

Client-side feature toggles for more than 1,000 monthly active users, within ConfigCat’s small flag count and CDN traffic caps. LaunchDarkly Developer already includes 1,000 client MAU, five service connections and unlimited flags; its Foundation usage beyond those allowances is paid. This is not general feature parity.

Before you switch

Partial replacement for LaunchDarkly client-side feature-flag targeting when an application exceeds LaunchDarkly Developer’s 1,000 client-side monthly active users but fits ConfigCat’s 10 flags per product, 5 million monthly configuration downloads and 20 GB monthly traffic. LaunchDarkly already includes unlimited flags, seats, five service connections and three environments on its free Developer plan; small projects fitting it do not need to pay or migrate. ConfigCat has two environments per product, two segments, four targeting rules and four percentage options per flag, and seven-day audit retention. Traffic/downloads count even though individual cached flag evaluations do not. No experiment-analysis, AI-agent control or enterprise-workflow parity is claimed. Hosted free use needs no card, server or paid API. SDK installation and flag changes were not tested by us.

Each comparison covers the workflow described above, rather than every paid feature.
